EARLY LIFE
Mavus was born in Luskan, in an unfaithful marriage. While this marriage were between two humans who desperately wanted a new baby, because of health reasons, Mavus' mother simply could not conceive. Accepting their faith, the wife knew that she has nothing to fear if she seeks pleasure and satisfaction in arms of other men. She was unfaithful and it has been working out good. However the last of those men had baatezu ancestry, with strong blood enough to conceive a new baby. News of such pregnancy lifted mood of the husband, as the once lost hope is now reborn again. But such happiness could not last for long. Pregnancy carried its complications. Mavus' mother died while giving him birth, and the husband had to face death and the betrayal of the one he loved. His love for his wife was stronger, and he decided to raise the baby, even if it was not his, it was the only thing left from her.

EDUCATION
Watching Mavus growing up was becoming difficult for his foster father. Mavus's features were taking stronger shapes as he was getting older, more and more matching the well known stigma that surrounds every tiefling. Not that this already reminded him heavily of death of his wife, but it also started to ruin his business as smith who had a good reputation. Not wanting to completly abandon Mavus, his foster father decided to fund his education to Host Tower of the Arcane. This would keep Mavus away and the business would still flourish, while at same time Mavus' foster father would not feel the guilt of giving up on Mavus. Education in arcane is exactly what Mavus found himself into. And training in one of the most rivaling academies in all of the Faerun pushed Mavus beyond an average mage. With each lesson learned his thirst for more knowledge increased. Mavus never focused on any specific school of magic, because he wanted to know them all. Not fearing researching of any and all kind of magic, Mavus had to expand the understanding of languages of other races, and this is what caught eye of Black Garius. While not involved in any major events of the Shadow War II, Black Garius used Mavus for less important tasks, as a lackey, and thus Mavus passively played his role against the goals of the Kalach-Cha. Before Black Garius died, Mavus was able to learn a lot about Shadow Magic, Shadw Weave, King of Shadows and Shar. Mavus never had intention to be anyone's lackey, but posin as one would simply increase his knowledge in spellcraft. However not everything turned out as Mavus planned. When Black Garius was expelled from the Arcane Brotherhood, so were those who served under him. And the Host Tower of the Arcane was no longer open to Mavus. Not that he could learn everything from it in a single lifespan anyway, Mavus knew better than to deal with the Arcane Brotherhood, so he simply left on bad terms. He decided that he should expand his understanding of magic by traveling through world. And such adventures brought him to the Cormanthor.

APPEARANCE and PERSONALITY
Mavus has light fair pale human skin, flame alike eyes and fire colored blonde hair that he keeps short or sometimes completely removed. Mavus is a bit shorter than average humans but appears to be stronger and in good shape. His horns are very noticeable, as well as his long tail. For a Wizard, Mavus tends to avoid standard robes, and his favorite wear color is black. He is also physically active and keeps his form well shaped. For a devil-descended tiefling, Mavus resembles closer to demon-descended one, because his horns and tail are very similar to those found among demons like incubus. The behavior of his tail's movement is good indicator of Mavus' current mood. Those with narrow knowledge about fiends can easily mistake him for abyssal blood. However, an expert in demonology and devil-lore could easily make difference, and trace Mavus' ancestry to Erinyes that serve Glasya, the Princess of the Nine Hells and the daughter of Asmodeus. To common folk Mavus is just another monster, thus while growing up Mavus had to go through the usual stigma most tiefling face which influenced in the forming of his personality. There is still that faint hint of fallen angel beauty, unlike the most tieflings, Mavus's facial shapes are human enough and not unattractive. This does not mean that Mavus would not pass an opportunity to exploit his heritage when such odds swim in his favor. His greed for gold is as big as almost as his thirst for knowledge. Although Mavus avoids making close relationships, due to his family history, he still recognizes the value of allies and partnership with others. Becoming Mavus' friend is not impossible but it is still a very difficult challenge. Mavus' strongest passion lies in knowledge, and the joy of the process of discovery and research.
