essence crafting Empty

My toon is standing next to an alchemy bench. I have all of the required skills and feats. I have a large stack of faint power essences. I activate the weak power essence recipe. I then get the message: operation failed-inventory is full. Yet, my inventory is far from full, I have several pages open in my pack. This happens with all types of essences, not just power.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?
